Lanmadaw Township, the western part of downtown Yangon, covers an area of 1.41km. Warr Dan Street is one of the well-known streets in Yangon. The township is bordered by Ahlone Township to the west, Latha Township to the east, Yangon River to the south and Dagon Township to the north.B.E.H.S (1) Lanmadaw (former St. John's English High School) and B.E.P.S (6) are famous schools in Lanmadaw. Yangon Central Women's Hospital, situated on Min Ye Kyaw Zwa Street , serves the women who can't afford to attend private hospitals in Yangon .Moreover, University of Medicine (1) is one of the most selective universities in Myanmar.Being Myanmar Baptist Union and Hashin Casin Pati Trust Mosque is a sign of no discrimination in religion and nationality. As the township is in downtown area of Yangon, houses are high in price for sale and rent. The ground floors are commonly rented to set up the business. To have nice apartments and condos to set up the shops and offices, most of people are interested to rent. According to the township's structure, bus-stops are nearby making super convenient to go around with public transportation. Lanmadaw is pretty suitable to live in.
