Japanese firm Tsuyotomo is planning to hire the Garment Factory in Shwe Taung Township, Bago Region, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.
The company said it would upgrade the facility and hire it for a long time and is currently negotiating with the Bago Region government. At the end of January 2020, Bago Region government announced that the company had explained to it.
The plant would technically be upgraded and aircraft seats and the car seats are designed to be distributed in a non-combustible way.
At present, the Japanese company provides technical training to factory workers with the help of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It is planning for factory workers to visit Japanese industrial sites.
The company has been negotiating with the Union Government of Myanmar as well as Bago regional investment committee officials, including the Bago Region government.
The factory, which started in 2017, has been found to have lost more than 200 million kyats per month for operation and decided to temporarily suspend the factory.
