Now, imagine actually having your hands on a winning ticket — one worth $2.5 million — only to lose it. Mildred Simoneriluto, of Monroeville, Pa., has been trying to find the ticket she accidentally left in the pocket of a jacket she donated, to no avail. Simoneriluto purchased the lottery ticket in May 2024 at a grocery store in nearby Murrysville and realized two weeks later that she had the winning numbers to a $2.5 million jackpot — but couldn’t find it. The 76-year-old retraced her steps and realized it was in the pocket of a jacket she had donated — along with other clothing — to Vietnam Veterans of America which, according WTAE, hands out its...

A Malaysian woman recently went viral after suggesting that people with higher education levels tend to have better manners — and that she’d much rather date educated men for their “more relevant conversations and arguments.” In a now widely shared Threads post, she questioned: “Why is it that, generally, the higher someone’s education level, the better their manners seem to be? “My friend said maybe it’s because SPM leavers don’t do things like final year projects or assignments—but that sounds kind of illogical to me. “Also, I prefer educated men because arguments and conversations tend to be more relevant and...

Obsessed James Brown sparked two blazes at his home fuelled by his fascination with the fire brigade. Firefighters were sent to Brown's home twice in one night after he rang them reporting fire in his fuse box. Newcastle Crown Court heard it was the culmination of 80 calls to the service he had made in a year. He was described as having a "fascination" and "obsession" with the fire service, rather than fires, and said in an ideal world he would like to be firefighter. Now he has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting two counts of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered. It was around 8.15pm on September 9 2023 that the fire brigade were called by Brown...

You'd think Bill Gates is a household name, given that he was the world's richest person for a record of 18 years. After all, who hasn't used Microsoft before, right? But that's apparently not the case for TikTok content creator Rebecca. She doesn't know the man who was the world's richest person for 18 years? Yesterday (May 6), Rebecca bumped into the Microsoft co-founder at a hawker centre in Singapore and posted about it. In her video, the 69-year-old billionaire was surrounded by a film crew and a throng of bystanders while he tasted one of our local specialties, durian. Kristina Ulmer says people have the wrong idea about teenagers. For seven years now, the Pennsylvania Grade 9 English teacher has been running a "$20 Kindness Challenge" with her class, giving each student $20 US from a pool of donations, and asking them to do something kind with it. And every year, she says, the teens in her class bring her to tears with their creativity, empathy and generosity. "A lot of people stereotype that age, and they say they're self-centred or, you know, they don't see outside of themselves. And I just don't see that," Ulmer, a teacher at Hatboro-Horsham High School in Horsham, Penn., told As It Happens host Nil Köksal. "Part of the reason why I love doing...
