The Netherlands oil company Berlanga announced on March 13 that oil and gas exploration will be undertaken in the offshore M-8 block of the Gulf of Mottama.
The Netherlands firm Berlanga and local A-1 company in 2014 to implement the project, which covers 2.7 million acres of water off the Irrawaddy coast. The Netherlands firm owns 95% of the project block and A-1 owns 5%. The offshore gas exploration began in 2015.
In addition, Berlanga is also authorized to operate the MOGE-4 block, which covers more than 200,000 acres. It is in central Myanmar. Berlanga owns 94.5% of the block and the remaining 5.5% is owned by Apex Geo Services Company, which received the concession in 2014.
Berlanga Company was founded in the Netherlands in 1994 and has its subsidiaries in Singapore and Myanmar. It entered Thailand and Myanmar for offshore oil and gas exploration.
