Water supply to distribute to 23 wards in Dagon Myothit ( East ) Township

As of 2020 when Lagunpyin water supply project is completed, water supply will be distributed to 23 wards in Dagong Myothit ( East ) township, Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe said in response to the question raised by U Kyaw Kyaw Maung, Yangon Region Hluttaw Representative at a session of Yangon Region Hluttaw meeting.

Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe said there are 63 wards in Dagon Myothit ( East ) and water supply is being distributed to 5 ward, 7 ward, 8 ward and 9 ward. In addition, Lagunpyin water supply project has a target to supply 40 million gallons of water per day to townships of eastern part in Yangon.

The project was launched in 2013 by Yangon City Development Committee ( YCDC ), Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River System and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency-JICA and has completed by 98 percent. When Lagunpyin water supply project is completed in 2020, water supply will be distributed to (1,2,3,4,6,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,108,109,110,111,124,125,132,133) wards and (114,115,116,) industrial zones, according to reports.
