My sister accidentally killed me by pushing me into the fire before I was reborn'

There was always something special about Kimberly from the moment she was born.

She entered the world with a blaze of red hair and spent the first four days of her life crying non-stop and refusing to sleep.

Frustrated and exhausted after months of no rest, her mum Angela eventually put her in her bed with her and "life got much better."

Speaking to LMN for a programme called The Ghost Inside My Child, Angela from San Diego said Kimberly was very empathetic from a young age and would get anxious in chaotic situations.

Her family took her to a therapist to teach her relaxation and breathing techniques.

Mum Angela said: "I wasn't sure but I started to think that maybe her sensitive nature was why she couldn't sleep.

"When I finally realised what was causing her sleep issues, I felt compleletly helpless."

Angela recalled the moment that sent shivers down her spine.

When Kimberly was playing, she looked like she was talking to someone.

"I was like: 'Kimberly, who are you talking to?' and she'd say: 'I'm talking to my sister Mama.' Kimberly didn't have a sister when she was that age," said Angela.

She asked her: "How come you play with your sister so much when you don't have a sister?"

Kimberly said: "No, no, Mama, the sister from when I lived before."

She took her concerns to a paediatrician who shrugged it off as a "sign of intelligence" and that she just had a great imagination.

But a short while later, Angela asked her daughter more about her "sister" and if she has a name.

"Kimberly said: 'oh yes Mom, her name is Sarah. She likes to come and play with me because she feels sorry.'"

Asked what she feels sorry about, Kimberly said: "When we lived before, she killed me by pushing me in the fire but it was an accident and she feels really sorry."

Angela recalled: "In my head, I was thinking: 'Oh my goodness, we have a problem. This is not normal.'"

She added: "It was very hard to have a child that was having really bad anxiety. You don't really know how to help them. I was worried."

When Kimberly got older, Angela asked her more about Sarah and everything she thought she remembered.

She claims Kimberly told her: "I lived in Liverpool, England between 1860 and 1870. My dad was a merchant, my brother's name was Thomas she was named Christina.

"She had a sister named Sarah and a mother named Anna and they were poor and slept in a very small home in a straw bed. One night when they were all sleeping, the stove that they had caused a fire.

"Her sister, thinking she was helping her during that fire when a beam fell, actually pushed her into the fire because it was about to fall on her."

The programme heard from Kimberly, now 21, who still struggles to let go of Sarah.

Kimberly said: "In my past life, I passed away in a house fire...I feel like I will always have sleeping problems in this life.

Kimberly said she no longer sees Sarah but feels her presence and is "comforted by the idea she's following me."
