In the heart of Manhattan, where real estate is among the most expensive in the world, a 670-foot skyscraper meant to redefine luxury living has been left abandoned. Tower 1 Seaport, an ambitious all-glass residential high-rise, was supposed to offer 60 stories of opulence overlooking the Financial District. But there was just one problem—the building started to tilt. When construction had reached the 670-foot mark, developers noticed something alarming: “The slab edges on the north side of the building are misaligned by up to 8 inches.” That sentence marked the beginning of the end for this high-profile project by Fortis Property Group. It can't be easy for architects to make their mark in such a skyscraper-packed location as Dubai, but Foster + Partners has certainly managed it. The influential firm has designed a pair of eye-catching towers that are linked by an exclusive penthouse swimming pool at the top. Named "Regent Residences Dubai, Sankari Place," the two skyscrapers will be located in Business Bay, near the upcoming Bugatti Residences. They will both rise to an equal height of 180 m (590 ft). The buildings will be oriented to maximize views of the Burj Khalifa, which is the world's tallest building – though it may not hold that title for long, with the even taller JEC Tower currently under construction...

Before independence, the Indian subcontinent housed over 500 princely states, which were the royalty of India. After the 1970s, however, royalty in Indian society was replaced by business tycoons and, in some cases, the richest film stars and cricketers. Quite often, the erstwhile royalty and the modern royalty overlap, though, which is the case with this one actor, who lives in one of the most expensive residences in the country. The most expensive home owned by an Indian actor is worth ₹800 crore, more than the combined values of SRK's Mannat and Amitabh Bachchan's...
