With the power of social media, one Singaporean woman has taken an unconventional route in her quest for love.
Bella Dai, a 29-year-old wellness entrepreneur, has put a SGD2,000 (~ RM6,647.66) bounty on the line for anyone who successfully introduces her to a life partner.
Frustrated with the unpredictable nature of modern dating, Dai turned to her network of friends, believing that they could find her a more compatible match than any dating app.
She shared her matchmaking campaign on Instagram in February, outlining specific criteria for her ideal partner.
The Ideal Match
Dai is searching for a straight male aged between 25 and 42 who is based in Singapore.
But beyond just age and location, she has clear expectations for the qualities she values in a partner:
*Mastery in his craft, demonstrating focus and discipline
*A strong commitment to wellness and fitness
*The courage to engage in difficult conversations
*An open mind towards spirituality and religion as self-development tools
However, there's a catch—the bounty will only be paid if the relationship lasts at least six months.
Inspired by Professional Strategies
Originally from Chengdu, Dai has been living in Singapore since she was 15 and is now a permanent resident.
A former industrial designer turned wellness instructor, she was inspired to apply work strategies to her personal life after a conversation with a friend.
“I realised that the hardest part of dating is the search. None of my friends use dating apps because the intent of people on those platforms is too unpredictable,” she explained.
Taking a marketing-style approach, Dai treated herself like a ‘product’ and devised a campaign to raise awareness of her availability. She wanted her friends to spread the word, ensuring potential matches were pre-screened by people she trusted.
