A 33-year-old man in China recently faced a medical emergency that sounds like something out of a horror film: doctors found a live, foot-long eel wriggling inside his abdominal cavity
Chinese newspaper Huaihua Daily reported that the bizarre ordeal began when the unnamed man arrived at an emergency room, sweating profusely and experiencing excruciating stomach pain.
Doctors at the hospital were immediately concerned, observing his pale complexion and fearing a severe infection.
A computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a mysterious foreign object lodged within his abdomen, prompting an urgent laparoscopic surgery to investigate.
During the operation, medical professionals were left stunned by what they found.

A live eel, approximately a foot in length, had somehow penetrated the man's intestinal wall and was actively wriggling among his internal organs
The surgical team successfully extracted the creature, repaired the perforation in his sigmoid colon, and irrigated the area to prevent further complications.
Following the incredibly unusual procedure, the man made a full recovery and was discharged from the hospital.
Medical experts did not officially comment on how the eel might have entered the man's body.
Public speculation, however, suggested an accidental insertion, hinting at the absurdity of the situation
"Everyone knows how he got in," one person commented on a social media post.
Another quipped that the man had probably sat on the eel by accident.
