Thanlyin township will be implemented as a smart city, and it will be connected by a highway to Kyaikhto , Mawlamyine city,Deputy Minister of Construction U Kyaw Lin said.

The Thanlyin Bridge will be completed in three years and will be the most beautiful bridge in Myanmar, according to Deputy Minister of Construction U Kyaw Lin. The Bago-Thanlyin Bridge which will be the gateway to Yangon would soon be constructed with a cost of US $ 160 million, said he.
And then a highway from Bago to Kyaikhto would be built with the loan of Asian Development Bank (ADB).The total cost will be $ 500 million. The new Sittaung River Bridge will also be built with the help of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
If you come from Kyaikhto, Mawlamyine city, you will get in through Thanlyin township as a shortcut and therefore Thanlyin will develop more, he said. “The Japanese government and Japanese companies are trying their best to implement Thanlyin as a smart city.
We are imagining Thanlyin likewise a smart city. The Japanese government and Japanese companies will try to implement the Thilawa urban development project,” Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar said. Roads, bridges, the natural gas and power stations and ports in Thanlyin were established with the Japanese loans.
