Shop signboard names are to be allowed only in Myanmar and English language in Yangon Region, according to YCDC.
The relevant language must be used in 20% of the signboard, with the remaining 80% in Myanmar and English language.
YCDC made an announcement that the signboard names written in relevant languages must be changed into Myanmar and English languages starting from the third week of December, 2009.
The signboard names of Chinese-owned shops in Hlaing Tharyar Township of the 33 townships of Yangon are written in Chinese language most and therefore the instruction would start from Hlaing Tharyar Township.
