More Exhibition Halls Are To Be Build in Yangon
The current venues for international exhibitions and fairs are not ideal due to the lack of facilities, space and the difficulty in transport. The regional government plans to construct halls which are easily accessible via land and water transport.
“The international exhibitions can be held only if there are big exhibition halls. Such international exhibitions can develop Yangon to become an economic hub,” said U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region at CEO Conference 2018.
At present, arrangements are being made to build a jute factory on the eight acres of land on Bayintnaung Road in order to develop such good infrastructures, he said.
It is scheduled to hold international exhibitions at the end of 2018 with the completed new exhibition halls, U Phyo Min Thein added.
Currently, the exhibitions are mainly held in MCC Hall and Tatmadaw Exhibition Hall for many years and then, the international exhibitions are held only in Naypyidaw.
