Vietnamese midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc rewarded himself with a luxury apartment worth over VND10 billion (US$394,000) in Hanoi after helping Vietnam secure the 2024 ASEAN Cup championship.
On Jan. 7, just a day after returning from Thailand, Duc and his parents visited the newly purchased property located in a sought-after project in Hanoi.
The apartment spans nearly 120 m2 and is valued at over VND10 billion.
On social media, broadcaster Quang Viet, a close friend and also Duc's agent, wrote: "A reward for the ASEAN Cup champion. A 27th birthday gift. Congratulations to my brother Hoang Duc on buying his first house. Keep up the good work."
Viet also revealed that the apartment is currently unfinished, and Duc plans to hire a designer for the interior.
He is expected to move into his new home after the Lunar New Year in late January.

Recently, Duc made headlines with his move from V. League 1 club Viettel FC to Phu Dong Ninh Binh in the V. League 2.
His three-year contract includes a signing bonus exceeding VND20 billion. At 26, his decision to play for a lower-division club was met with mixed reactions.
Duc explained his choice in an interview with VnExpress in October.

Early in his career, Duc bought his parents and sister a car for their transportation needs. In 2022, he built a nice new house for his parents in Hai Duong Province that borders Hanoi, located on a major road in the city.
