Everyone has their hobbies, and one of mine just so happens to be whiling away hours on Rightmove, fantasising about living in houses I will never be able to afford.
So you can bet I was pretty darn excited to discover a listing for Britain’s most expensive flat on the market for an eye-watering £175,000,000.
The five-bedroom penthouse is located in the iconic One Hyde Park development in Knightsbridge, London, a complex made up of four luxury apartment buildings.
According to the latest Rightmove data, properties in Knightsbridge had an overall average price of £2,915,809 over the last year, making this home more than 60 times the average property price in the area.
So what do you get for all that money?
According to Sotheby’s International Realty the flat is ‘one of the finest residential real estate assets in London’ with ‘unparalleled’ living space, ‘uninterrupted’ views over Hyde Park, and wrap-around terraces.
If this weren’t enough there’s a Japanese-inspired kitchen, every bedroom has its own marble bathroom en-suite, with jacuzzi pools and dressing rooms in the main suite as well, and there’s a cocktail bar and pool table.

One Hyde Park, which is one of the world’s most exclusive residential developments, is made up of 86 apartments in total and boasts a private spa with sauna and steam rooms run by the Mandarin Oriental, as well as a state-of-the-art gym, a swimming pool, virtual games room, meeting rooms, plus a dedicated car and chauffeur service for residents.
According to Vanity Fair, the complex is incredibly ‘secretive’ and also very secure — the publication claims it has ‘advanced-technology panic rooms, bulletproof glass and bowler-hatted guards trained by British Special Forces’.
They add: ‘Inhabitants’ mail is X-rayed before being delivered.’ A number of famous faces have lived at One Hyde Park over the years, including Kylie Minogue, who previously owned a three-bedroom flat there, before swapping life in the UK for the sunny skies of Melbourne in 2021.
