If you’ve always dreamed of living in a grotto or bringing the feeling of the outdoors inside, a “cave home” in the SoCal city of Indio is on the market for $599,000.
With artificial rock formations adorning the entryway, living room and kitchen, including nooks with leafy-green plants, the property at 79153 Starlight Lane is an unusual oasis. Eagle paintings soar across several walls and there’s a cave-like wet bar.
“It’s totally quirky,” said seller agent Brendhan Springe of Sotheby’s International Realty.

The seller has a history of creating cave-like interiors: He’s previously decorated a hot springs hotel in Palm Springs and a jewelry store (with the rocks meant to evoke the feeling of a diamond mine), according to Springe.

The backyard is currently torn up, but the owner’s vision was to build a pool surrounded by rock formations, Springe said.
Popular social media account Zillow Gone Wild recently featured the home on Instagram.
