The National Library of Yangon is scheduled to open in early April, and the meeting on successfully holding the opening ceremony of National Library was held at the National Library (Yangon) in Pabedan Township on March 2, according to Yangon Region Government.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung ko gave an opening remark and Director-General U Aung Myint from the Department of Historical Research and National Library said the conditions to relocate the National Library of Yangon.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Hluttaw representatives, Officials from the National Library Department and departmental officials, according to reports.
The National Library of Yangon is set to relocate from the current address, No. (85-b), Thiri Mingalar lane, Kabaraye Pagoda Road, Yankin township to the building of former Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, Burmah Oil Company (BOC) on the Merchant street, No. 604/608, between 31st and 32nd , Pabedan township, according to reports.
