Taste is not the only consideration when dining out, as nowadays people also seek unique experiences. While some expect excellent hospitality and others demand VIP treatment, one restaurant offers something entirely different—it allows diners to experience what it feels like to be in jail.
This restaurant in Bangalore, aptly named Central Jail Restaurant, immerses guests in a jail-like atmosphere. Upon arrival, you’ll quickly realise you haven’t just walked into any regular restaurant.
A Strong Start
The experience begins the moment you approach the entrance. Instead of the usual large door typical of most restaurants, you are greeted by a massive jail door, through which you can enter via a small opening. Outside, a statue of a sentry appears to stand guard, reinforcing the theme.
Upon entering, you’re welcomed by a staff member, but not dressed as a traditional waiter. Instead, he wears the uniform of a prison inspector. The prison theme continues throughout the interior, complete with tables and chairs resembling those found in actual prisons.
For those seeking more traditional dining arrangements, there are also rooms where groups can sit together. There are also large rooms designed for parties, with long tables and numerous chairs.
Waiters Dressed As Prisoners
atmosphere is further enhanced by the presence of handcuffs on the nearby bars, which diners can wear for the ultimate prison experience.
The waiters are dressed in prisoner uniforms, adding to the authenticity of the theme. Even the restaurant’s utensils are styled similarly to those used in prisons.
Interestingly, this is not the only restaurant in India with such a theme. A similar ‘jail cafe’ exists in Noida, and other cities across the country are reported to have similar establishments. These restaurants, with their unique decor and jail-inspired elements, offer a distinct dining experience.
