At $19.5 Million, 750-Acre Kentucky Ranch Is the State’s Most Expensive

A 750-acre Kentucky ranch, almost as big as New York City’s bucolic Central Park, is ready to change hands.

With a price tag of $19.5 million, the property, which hit the market last week, is the most expensive available to buy in the Bluegrass State, listing records show.

Dubbed Lakewood Valley, the property is on the outskirts of Whitesville, some 20 miles from the Indiana border in the north of the state. Its 750 acres are home to three single-family homes, a 60-acre lake, an airplane hangar and runway, two tennis courts, hiking trails and a sand volleyball court, according to the listing with Kentucky Select Properties.

“This property is the result of years of diligently sought-after and carefully crafted land that precisely met the owners’ topography specifications for the construction of a self-sustaining private lake to test hydroplanes,” listing agency Kentucky Select Properties said in a news release.

Mansion Global could not determine the owners of the property, how much they paid for it, or when they bought it.

The three residences combined hold a total of 14 bedrooms, 14 baths, six half baths and garage space for eight cars.

One has a home theater, a gym, and a hot tub; another has a deck overlooking the lake. The primary lakeside residence is “particularly architecturally stunning and features one of the most outstanding views the lake has to offer,” the brokerage said in the release.

“The possible uses for the property are endless,” according to the release. It could be a treatment center, a corporate retreat, a music venue, a golf resort, “or simply a family farm.”
