There is a company applying for the development of the Ponna Island Industrial Zone in Rakhine state, according to reports. The company is Development Myanmar Power Investment and Improvement Company which has an agreement with the Chinese government and the tender was submitted to Rakhine state Government on January 10.
If it gets the permission to implement the project, it will conduct the project with the investment amount of more than US$ 100 billion.The tender applicant company will build garment factories, sewerage plants and other factories in the implementation of the industrial zone.
