There are only tens of thousands of kyats for rent in shops in Salinkwin and Padonemarkwin owned by the Yangon Sports and Physical Education Department, according to reports. The report is released based on the survey of the public accounts committee by the Audit Committee report for the financial year 2017-18.
U Aung Myo, a member of the Public Accounts Committee, said that this is why rental fees should be increased.
The rental rates of Salinkwin and Padonemarkwin are only ten thousand kyats, much different than the current market price, to raise rents and to sell shops completely and to receive little rent and to review the committee’s last year report.
In addition, there is also a big difference between the rental fees set by Department of Internal Revenue and Yangon Sports and Physical Education Department.
Therefore, the chief auditor suggects that the state-owned land and stadium should be rent in line with the current market price.
