Japan-Myanmar High-Level Water Infrastructure Seminar Held

Japan-Myanmar high-level water business seminar was held in Novotel Hotel, Yangon.

The event was attended by Yangon Region Government, Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe, officials from the Japanese Embassy in Myanmar, Yangon Deputy Mayor and members of the Committee, Japan-Myanmar business people, officials from the companies, invited guests, according to Yangon Region Government.

Water plays an important role in the development of Yangon. Yangon is much in need of water production in the distribution and treatment of potable water.

It is a time of struggle to reach potable water in purifying and treatment of water.He added that Yangon Region needs water pipeline installation, water distribution, water production. It has plans to proceed and needs to be a fair and reasonable price.

Moreover, water shortages, unsystematic water supply system, waste of water pipeline needs to be properly maintained, he said. Japan and Myanmar partner companies need to work together to upgrade these requirements. From this meeting, the sectors of water requirements, water production, water pipeline connecting, distribution and selling of water need to be cooperative and reach up to practical workshops.
