Kudos are in order for Adam Levine, the Maroon 5 frontman, who’s quickly becoming a Los Angeles real estate maven.
The “Girls Like You” singer sold his lavish seven-bedroom Beverly Hills, California, mansion in less than five weeks for $45 million, according to Redfin, which posted the sale on Thursday. The final deal was just a couple million off his $47.5 million asking price—a major feat in a super-luxury market plagued by price cuts and long list times.
Mr. Levine, 40, who announced on Friday that he’s leaving “The Voice” after 16 seasons on NBC’s hit singing competition, has a flair for selling multimillion-dollar mansions, if his track record of the past three years is any clue.
The singer bought this particular Beverly Hills residence in March 2018 for $34 million, and in little more than a year flipped it for $11 million more.
Of course, he spent considerable cash updating the place. He remodeled the interiors and grounds and added new amenities, which in total set the superstar back about $8 million, listing agent Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency previously told Mansion Global. A spokesperson for the broker did not immediately return a request for comment on the sale.
What’s more, he’s reportedly sold the mansion to the reigning queen of celebrity home flipping: Ellen DeGeneres, gossip site TMZ reported. Mansion Global could not independently confirm she was the purchaser.
And while Mr. Levine, his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, 31, and two kids clearly used the house as a personal residence—just take a look at how many sneakers are in the master walk-in closet—it is unclear if Ms. DeGeneres will live there or do her usual interior overhaul and put it back on the market. Reps for the talk show host and Mr. Levine could not immediately be reached for comment.
The swanky home was built in 1933 in the traditional American vernacular style of the time. It now spans over 10,000 square feet, with seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and myriad bonus rooms—including a home theater and media room, a gym, two kitchens and a guest house.
He put the home up for sale in order to move closer to his children’s school, Mansion Global previously reported.
