The Mulholland Estates home is now asking just under $8.5 million Actor Charlie Sheen’s Beverly Hills mansion is on the market again—this time at a reduced price of $8.49 million.
The nearly 9,000-square-foot five-bedroom, seven-bathroom Mediterranean-style house in the guard-gated community of Mulholland Estates in Sherman Oaks had been listed in February 2018 for a hair under $10 million. It was relisted at the lower price on Jan. 25.
This time, the listing agents are Julia Palacin Alcalde of Keller Williams Realty World Class and Mark Tyoran of Keller Williams Westlake Village.
The price reduction was done, Mr. Tyoran said, to make "the property more competitive."
He said that Mr. Sheen, the former star of CBS’s long-running hit TV series "Two and a Half Men," bought the house, which was built in 1992, for $7.2 million in 2006 and originally put it on the market for the same price in 2011.
That was shortly after he was fired from the show following a stint in rehab and a dramatic public meltdown.
At the time, Mr. Sheen, 53, was reported to be the highest-paid TV actor on U.S. television, earning $1.8 million per episode. Since then, he has sold two other homes in Mulholland Estates.
The two-story mansion, which Mr. Sheen used as a bachelor pad, is designed for partying. In addition to a pool and spa with a water feature, a swim spa, shower and bath, the backyard also has a garden and barbecue pavilion with an 80-inch flatscreen TV.
"It’s like a resort," Mr. Tyoran said. "The pavilion has ovens, a bar, ice makers, and a barbecue area. And the surrounding area is heated." Inside the house, there’s a 16-seat theater, a professional-grade kitchen, a dining room that seats 10, and a games room.
The master bedroom suite has a secret space that’s outfitted as a private screening room with a carved mahogany wet bar and floating shelves. During intermissions, viewers can step out onto the Juliet balcony to watch sunrises and sunsets.
The mansion, which is on nearly a half acre of land, also has an office off the formal entry and an upstairs gym that features a secret walk-in humidor behind a bookcase.
"It’s a Charlie Sheen fun house," Mr. Tyoran said. "The room sizes are big, and the high ceilings give it good volume. It can go a lot of different ways because the gym and office can be converted into bedrooms for a large family."Emails to Mr. Sheen’s representatives were not answered.
