Calls For EOI For Yangon’s Elevated Toll Road Project

The private entrepreneurs who are interested to invest in the 30-mile elevated toll road project are invited to submit the expression of interest (EOI) by the Ministry of Construction, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Construction.

The latest submission date is up to 5:00 pm, June 29. In EOI, the submitted person must describe accurately his interest to invest in the project, his summary, summary of company’s performance, bank account balance for three years, financial statement and other relevant certifications such as ISO certification.

The four-lane expressway linking downtown Yangon with Mingalardon Gardens and Yangon-Mandalay Expressway will be implemented through the PPP system. The tender will be chosen by the Ministry of Construction in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) was appointed as the Leading Adviser for the Yangon Elevated Toll Road Project on 11th January.

The expressway project would require between $350 million to $400 million in private sector investment in Yangon’s road infrastructure, which would help to reduce the capital investment burden on the government.
