Low-Cost Housing Units Put Up By Yangon Regional Government To Be On Sale in May
In May, more than 1,000 low-cost apartments will be put up for sale by the Yangon regional government, said U Nyi Nyi, secretary of Public Housing Sale Committee.
The committee will determine how the apartments will be allotted to the public at the meeting, he said.
The apartments up for sale are Innwa Housing, Kaungsanthar Housing in South Dagon, Yuzana Housing (I,II), Kanaung Houisng in Dagon Seikkan, Kyiepwaryay Housing in Thingangyun, Shwelinban Housing, Hteehlaing Housing in Hlaing Tharyar, Shop Houses in Shwepyithar and Shwepaukkan Housing in North Okkalapa townships.
The apartments up for sales have selling prices of MMK 10 million to MMK 60 million depending on their location. The cheapest apartments are in Dagon Seikkan township, according to the Public Housing Sale Committee.
Despite it is expected of over 20,000 applications, but only 10,000 people have submitted applications, U Nyi Nyi said.
There are four types of application forms for general public, civil servants, retired civil servants and company staff.
The applicants must have 23 years of age and Myanmar citizen. Only one in each household is allowed to apply.
Buyers are required to place a down payment of 30 percent of the cost price and then 10 to 15 years monthly installment plan.
Depending on the amount of sales result, the Yangon regional government will process to implement housing projects, according to the Public Housing Committee.
