The design and quality promoting workshop for the weather-resistant affordable housings was held in Naypyidaw in cooperation of the Ministry of Construction, UN-Hanitat and Netherlands Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (HIS).
At present, the housings’ designs are being drawn by the technology of Netherlands. The weather-resistant buildings are going to be constructed in the necessary locations of Myanmar, said a responsible official of the Department of Urban and Housing Development.
The Ministry of Construction is cooperating with international organizations in order to develop the domestic housing sector. In addition, a low-cost housing Pilot Project is being built in Hlegu township by the help of Japan’s technology.
