Many Difficulties Are Being Encountered By The Lack Of Government Industrial Development Policy

As the biggest problem is the lack so far of any overarching government industrial development policy, it is impossible to manage effectively, implement the industrial development activities. The Focal Ministry or the Department is needed to be set to handle and adjust directly between the Department of Urban and Housing Development under the Ministry of Construction which have implemented Industrial Zones and the current transfer Yangon City Development Committee, said U Win Naing, Deputy Chairman of Myanmar Industries Association.

At present, there are many difficulties in the industrial zones like damaged roads, lack of clean water, lack of Social Security clinics and hospitals, 10% of the additional units of monthly electricity fee and squatting in industrial zones and so on. So to solve the difficulties, a policy is needed to be released by the Yangon Regional Government, U Win Naing said.

The current facing problem of Minglardon Industrial Zone with 100% of foreign investments is the block the main entrance of the zone by the vendors, motorbike carries and YBS buses which don’t stop at the bus stop. Therefore, U Win Naing presented and requested to Vice President, U Myint Swe to solve the problem.
