Fine Rate Imposed For The Buildings Without Permission And Exceeded By More Than The Specified Stories Will Be Reduced By 70%
The fine for the buildings which were built without permission and exceeded by more than the specified stories will be reduced by 70% by Yangon City Development Committee, said a MP for Mayangone Township Constituency (1).
In 2014 under the former Government days, collecting fine and demolishing the buildings were forced for the buildings without permission and exceeded by more than the specified stories, according to the sources.
Now, the fine is reduced by 70%.Since last year, the buildings which had been fined were allowed to rebuild.
However, most of them have not been paid a fine. Therefore, Yangon Regional Government reduced the fine rate by 70%. So, it is needed to fine about 3 million MMK for 10 million MMK of the real fine rate.
The fine has been reduced for three types of building. The first type is the buildings built on the government-owned land, the second type is the buildings built on the land which were reported in case of land ownership and the third type is the buildings which were built without permission.
In Mayongone Township, there are (450) buildings which had been imposed a fine for the reasons of constructing without permission and exceeded by more than the specified stories, according to the sources.
In Yangon Region, there are nearly (2000) buildings which had been imposed a fine. The fine can be paid in contact with Yangon City Development Committee.
