Yangon’g Zoning Plan To Be Released To The Public In February
The draft of Yangon’s Zoning Plan has been drawn up completely since December 2017. Therefore, it is trying to release that plan to civil society and the public in February, according to the news of Yangon City Development Committee.
The city plan was first drawn up in 2013 by a working committee with recommendations from urban planners and representatives from YCDC, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Yangon Heritage Trust and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The zoning plan will include the division of zones which high-rises should be built as economic zone, green area zone, calm area zone. It is a law that needs to be enacted in Yangon as soon as possible.
The zoning plan will be issued for the public in accordance with Yangon Regional Government’s plan.
If the zoning plan is been firmed into law, the construction will be implemented through the law enforcement.
If the zoning plan could be firmed into law, it would demarcate the townships for high-rise buildings projects. Moreover, it would impact the real estate price in Yangon depending on the type of zone.
