Saudi Prince’s $11.8M Never-Lived-In Virginia Mansion Finally Under Contract

A24,000-square-foot megamansion in Great Falls, VA, said to be owned by a Saudi prince finally has an offer after nearly a year on the market.

Listed for $11.8 million, the Chateau de Lumiere, or “Palace of Light,” boasts eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms and sits on 5.5 verdant acres.

The deluxe domicile was reportedly purchased brand-new in 2017 by Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, who was a Georgetown University student at the time.

Never lived here?

Apparently, the prince never moved in. Shortly after splashing out $12 million for it, he was named to his ambassadorship role and later promoted to Saudi vice minister of defense.

The ritzy residence was listed in 2019 for $14 million, according to the Washington Business Journal. It was dropped to its current asking price in November 2023.
