The equestrian ranch on the northern edges of Los Angeles that was the longtime home of the late actor Patrick Swayze has been listed for $4.5 million.
Known as Rancho Bizarro, the 4.5-acre property in the San Fernando Valley community of Sylmar was owned by the “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost” star and his wife, Lisa Niemi, beginning in the 1980s, according to property records.
Swayze, who also starred in action films such as “Point Break” and “Road House,” died of pancreatic cancer in 2009 at the age of 57.
The current owner is an entity tied to philanthropist and oil heiress Aileen Getty, which bought the ranch from Niemi in 2015 for $2.9 million, according to property records and published reports.
The ranch, which was listed this week, features a 1940s California ranch-style house with 3,516 square feet of interior space, three bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one partial bathroom.
The single-level house features a living room with a beamed cathedral ceiling, a fireplace, an antler chandelier, hardwood floors, French doors and wood walls, according to the listing.
The primary bedroom suite holds another fireplace, double doors that open to a patio and a bathroom with tiled steps up to a soaking tub.
The all-white renovated kitchen features high-end appliances, custom cabinetry, a farmhouse sink and large windows. It opens to a glass atrium that overlooks expansive meadows, mature trees and a free-form pool.
Other amenities include covered patios, custom-tiled outdoor dining spaces, a guest cottage, a carport and an oversized detached garage, according to the listing.
The house also holds Swayze’s former dance studio, a large flex space that “could easily house an extensive home gym, fully furnished rehearsal space for dance or theater performance, or a light-filled art studio,” according to the listing.
Equestrian facilities include a riding arena and a fully equipped barn with 11 horse stalls, a tack room, a laundry room, two grooming stalls and a large living room.
Depending on traffic, it’s a 25- to 40-minute drive into Beverly Hills, he said.
