On a bluff overlooking an expanse of blue lake, this citadel sits awaiting its next knight in shining armor. At the edge of Idaho’s Frandsen Forest, a mansion-sized residential castle has hit the market, and can now be yours.
Known as Castle Von Frandsen, the property originally listed for $7 million last July, a price tag that has since been reduced to its current ask of $4.5 million.
The “nearly famous and truly iconic waterfront estate,” as the listing describes, is set on close to 10 acres and includes two buildable waterfront lots.
“It might as well have been plucked from a fairytale and placed on the shore of one of the most stunning lakes in Idaho,” broker Brenda Burk, who shares the listing with fellow Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty agent Danny Davis, told The Post.
“A castle in Idaho is definitely something you don’t see every day, and having the chance to explore it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

The two-bedroom, three-bathroom fortress — built from enormous timber beams harvested from the surrounding woodlands, and granite quarried in British Columbia and hand-chiseled onsite — measures in at 8,000 square feet of medieval-tinged living quarters.
