Village of giant winter melo
For many years, Chanh Trach village in Phu My, Binh Dinh province is known as the land of giant winter melons. Most of households have several trellises of dangling big winter melons. A normal winter melon in other rural areas has an average weight of about 7-10 kg and every Chanh Trach one weighs approximately 40-50 kg.
Some fruits are even meters long with 0.6 m in diameter and about 1 quintal. No one could explain why Chanh Trach village could produce such giant winter melons.
Village has its own language
Located about 40 km from Hanoi’s center, Da Chat village in Dai Xuyen, Phu Xuyen is compared to a strange land because villagers use a special language to discuss. If you are not local people, you can not understand the dialogue without an interpreter. The elders said that traditional craft of Da Chat village is mill production and the worker created a private language to keep their profession secrets and tricks. This language is imparted from generation to generation.
Village of reincarnation
As reported by the press, the villages of Chieng Chau commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province are the place where has occurred dozens of reincarnation stories in recent decades. In all cases, the children are normal kids until reaching the age of 3-4 years old, they claimed themselves to be the son or daughter of families living far dozens of kilometers from their houses although the families had no relationship earlier.
Village of twins
With nearly 100 sets of twins, of which the oldest twins are over 60 years old and youngest twins are only 2-3 years, Hung Hiep hamlet in Hung Loc commune, Thong Nhat (Dong Nai) set the record of the village with most of twins sets in country. In 2007, Hung Loc commune has more than 60 sets of twins, of which Hung Hiep hamlet accounted for 40 sets. Since then, they called Hung Hiep hamlet “twin village”. At present, Hung Hiep has 70 twins sets out of nearly 100 sets of the commune.
Village of mental illness
Chua hamlet in Phu Gia village, LocTien commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province has a very high level of mental illness, accounting for over 10% of the population. A lot of research groups came to the village but has yet found the cause of this phenomenon. A proposal of moving the village to another place was offered but the villagers did not agree…
Friendly village
Xom Mui hamlet in Ca Mau has more than 80% of house with no door. It is strange that this friendly village has never had robbery. According to explanation of residents, it is due to rustic, charitable character of local people. More than that, the village is located in remote area with only one access. Therefore, no thief dares to come near.
