Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owner asking $55 million for Palm Beach mansion

The Glazer family took control of United in 2005 in a deal which saddled the club with £660 million of debt. Before the takeover, United were debt free but that figure currently stands at £514.9m.

United’s supporters have staged multiple protests against the Glazers during their 17-year reign and have frequently raised concerns over the lack of investment at the club during their ownership.

The chant ‘Love United, hate Glazers’ is also regularly sung by United fans during games at Old Trafford. According to reports last month, the Glazers are demanding £9 billion in order to sell United.

Darcie Glazer Kassewitz—a co-owner of the defending NFL champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers—and her husband, Joel Kassewitz, are selling their waterfront estate in one of the nation’s hottest luxury markets.

Listed for $55 million, the Palm Beach, FL, mansion is touted as a rare offering.

“The main part that sets this property apart is the property itself. You don’t find 2 acres in Palm Beach,” explains the listing agent, Gary Pohrer of Douglas Elliman. “Palm Beach is made of smaller properties—so to be able to have this much space is kind of unheard of.”

Measuring 10,171 square feet, the home offers 220 feet of waterfront on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is private, something Pohrer says the sellers enjoyed.

Glazer Kassewitz is co-owner of the Buccaneers and leads both the Glazer Vision Foundation and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation.

The couple have owned the home since 2018, and Pohrer says it was the privacy that attracted them to this house. A parcel of this size in Palm Beach usually accommodates more than just one home.

The [property] next door to the north, there are two houses on it, and the one to the south, there are three houses, maybe four on the same area. The person who buys this property is going to want the security and the privacy,” says Pohrer.

The house was originally built in 1936 for Isabel Collier Read, the daughter-in-law of Barron Gift Collier. Collier was a prominent developer, and Florida’s Collier County bears his name. Collier Read died in 2008 at the age of 89.

After their purchase three years ago, the sellers updated a number of areas in the classic home. The kitchen, some of the upstairs bathrooms, the front office, and the theater room all received makeovers.

The spacious main house has four bedrooms. Overnight guests have the option of enjoying a two-bedroom guesthouse.

A lovely living room offers views in both directions—the large pool area in front or of the waterway in back.The mansion sits on a rare spot where the very slim Intracoastal Waterway widens. The expanse of water on the home’s back side is rare for this area.

Glazer Kassewitz’s father, the late Malcom Glazer, bought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1995, and the team is now owned by his six children, Glazer Kassewitz as well as Bryan, Edward, Joel, Avram, and Kevin Glazer. Earlier this year, the Bucs won the Super Bowl in their home stadium.

The Glazers also own Manchester United, a Premier League soccer club in England.

Pohrer says the couple have been spending more time across the state in the Tampa area, so they’ve decided to sell this property.
