Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe responded the question raised by U Kyaw Min Han of Latha Constituency No. (2) MP that the Yangon City Development Committee would select one market among the markets in a township and it would be modernized.
MP U Kyaw Min Han raised the question whether there is a plan that as the Thein Gyi Market (D) in Latha township is a downtown Yangon market that is in line with modern market features, to upgrade the market and to allow businesses suitable for the market and to increase modernized rental shop rates.
Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe responded the question that YCDC is implementing the markets to become modern and advanced in cooperation with private sector by Market Operator system. Initially, the Yangon City Development Committee would select one market among the markets in a township and it would be modernized.
Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe added that the private sector would upgrade the market, select suitable businesses for the market, increase up-to-date rental shop rates with Market Operator system.
