Cassette tape and CD magnate David Chan Ping-chi, one of 10 ultra wealthy investors who paid a world record US$5.15 billion for The Center in late 2017, is offering subdivided office units in the landmark skyscraper for up to 47 per cent more than what he spent. Chan could pull in sales revenue of HK$1.3 billion (US$170 million) if all 12 units on the 39th floor are sold. Each floor of the 73-storey The Center covers an area of 26,000 square feet. “Five units have been reserved. Details of the terms are being discussed with the potential buyers,” said Lam Chi-fung, who is acting on behalf of Chan, the chairman of ACME Group, on the deal. The 12 units, whose sizes range from...

When complete, the 1,049-foot-high Bestseller Tower in Denmark will be the tallest building in that country and western Europe, according to The Guardian. The building — which stands out amid flat rural terrain — will be the headquarters of Denmark-based clothing company Bestseller. The tower, designed by noted firm Dorte Mandrup, will be visible from 37 miles away. Its height will beat the Shard in London by 34 feet. But unlike the Shard, located in the bustling neighborhood of Southwark, the Bestseller Tower is slated for the town of Brande, which has just 7,000 inhabitants. “It will be a landmark that places Brande on the map,” said Anders Krogh Vogdrup,...

CapitaLand announced on Monday that it has topped out the 1.2-million-square-metre Raffles City in Chongqing, a month after the Singapore-listed firm announced the S$11 billion acquisition of fellow government-backed developer Ascendas-Singbridge, its partner in the project. Now structurally complete, the RMB 24 billion property will be launched in phases starting from the second half of 2019, according to a statement by the developer. The Moshe Safdie-design project, in which CapitaLand held a 62.5 percent stake at end of 2017, was first announced in 2011 and broke ground in 2012. The eight-tower development, which CapitaLand has christened “the crown jewel of Chongqing”...
