Yangon Region Government and Ministry of Construction has announced the project details of Yangon overpass project phase 1 will be made public in six townships.
The townships to be explained to the public are the affected townships: Mingala Taungnyunt, Thingangyun, South Okkalapa, North Okkalapa and Mayangone townships.
Yangon overpass project information will be respectively made public at Thudamar Dharmayone on February 15, Pathein Nyunt Ward, Mingala Taungnyunt township, at the General Administration Office of Thingangyun township and at Myinthar Myo Oo monastery, South Okkalapa township on February 16, at the General Administration Office, North Okkalapa township and at the Great Celestial Abode, Pyithayar Ward, Mingaladon township.
It has been announced that anyone can attend the ceremony in their respective townships.
The Ministry of Construction informed Yangon Hluttaw Representatives on January that the Yangon overpass construction would begin in July.
Yangon Region Government must support resettlement in order to implement land use restrictions in the project area.
In addition, the mayor is scheduled to survey the entire area from February 10 to March 10, he said.
The project to be implemented now is Phase 1, starting with the Daw Pone Bridge in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township through Upper Puzuntaung Street, Thanthumar Street, Waizayannar Street, Thudamar Street to Khayaypin intersection (19 Km, more than 11 miles) and then Tanyingone intersection (5.5 Km, 3 miles and a half) and the entrance to Yangon Airport ( 2.5 Km, 1 mile and a half).
It has a total length of 27 km (over 16 miles) and 30 meters (about 100 feet).
