Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received the MEDEF international business delegation from France at the Irrawaddy Hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Naypyidaw on February 5, according to the state-run newspaper.
The MEDEF international business delegation was led by Mr.Christian Lechervy, Ambassador of France to Myanmar.
During the meeting, they discussed Myanmar’s investment situation and economic reforms, opportunities for French companies to invest in Myanmar, the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of economic, trade, agriculture, energy and infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Soe Win, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin and the senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations.
The MEDEF International is a representative organization of French Business Confederation and it was accompanied by 28 business representatives from French companies who are interested in investing in Myanmar.
