Entrepreneurs from Thailand are interested in investing for tourism in archipelagos in Tanintharyi, Kawthaung and Myeik regions according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.
The director general of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration U Thant Zin Lwin said that the neighboring country of Thailand is showing a keen interest in the sectors of travel and tours besides the existing fishery and mining industries.
The Investment Forum will be held in Myeik district on 7 December 2019.
The forum will issue an invitation to invest in the sectors of tourism, fishery and mineral industries.
One of the Thai entrepreneurs discussed to conduct the industries of cruising round the Myeik archipelagos, taking seaplanes and airplane sightseeing tours.
Myeik archipelgos may be one of the major destinations for local and foreigners.
Only marine shrimp farming was allowed to carry out in the region from 2017 to 2019.
