English singer and songwriter Sir Rod Stewart has found a buyer for his £4.7 million (US$6.1 million) country house in Essex, England, according to listing records.
An online listing for the property, found in the town of Epping, not far from London, shows that the home has "recently sold." Mansion Global could not determine the exact date of the transaction.
The "Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?" crooner first listed the mansion, known as The Wood House, in 2016 for £7.5 million before gradually chopping the price to its most recent ask.
The six-bedroom main house was built in the 1800s in Jacobean-style with heavy oak mullions, full-height leaded bay windows and detailed pargetting—patterned plasterwork typically found in the East of England counties of Suffolk and Essex, Mansion Global previously reported.
It was designed by architects Walter Ernest Tower and Charles Eamer Kempe, a Victorian stained glass designer.
The Wood House features several examples of Kempe’s work, along with other period details like wood paneling, ornamental plasterwork and stone fireplaces, according to the listing with Savills. A representative for the estate agents declined to comment on the transaction.
Along with its decorative features, the home also has a bar, a games room, a media room and a library.
On its almost 17-acre grounds there is a boating lake with its own jetty, rose gardens, a tennis court and a full-size soccer pitch, according to the listing.
Property records show that Mr. Stewart, 74—who could not immediately be reached for comment—bought the home in 1986 using his full name, Roderick David Stewart, though they did not specify how much he paid.
Records are not yet available with a final sale price or a buyer.
The Daily Mail first reported the sale.
