Transport for London have now apologised and said they would seek a more suitable permanent location after erecting the loo in Biggin Hill, Kent.
Richard said: ‘I went to drop the kids off at school and when I came back it was there. It had literally been dumped within a 30-minute period.
We had no warning about it – our local councillors didn’t even know about it.
‘They could have put it where the main buses terminate down the road – we only have one bus on this road.
‘It’s knocked £20,000 off the value of our houses.
‘The entire road is annoyed our houses which were £600,000 have now been downgraded – all because of this Turdis.’
Nick Fairholme, Director of Project & Programme Delivery at TfL, said: ‘We are sorry that we did not inform all residents of our plans to install a toilet for bus drivers in Biggin Hill.
‘We try to be mindful of residents when we install these important facilities but understand that there are concerns about this location.
‘We have offered to meet the local community to explore the feasibility of a more suitable location, or if that is not possible to see if any changes can be made to the existing facility.’
