David Beckham Hired By Knight Frank To Sell Country Properties
England footballing legend David Beckham has been hired by luxury agent Knight Frank to promote their country properties.
As part of a lavish marketing splurge, Knight Frank have partnered with a number of high profile ‘lifestyle curators’ including Becks, Soho House star-chitect Martin Brudnizki, the Creative Director of Gucci and movie star Patrick Dempsey.
The Becks-KF partnership also allows the ex-Real Madrid star to pitch his new fashion range.
He also let slip that he recently bought a property in the country, “it’s a period property, and I’m having it restored and renovated at the moment. When it’s done, it will have lots of space inside – cosy in the winter with open fires and inglenooks, and then open windows, fresh air, light and a rustic garden for the summer. The idea is that it is all built around a large central space where the family can hang out together.”
DealMakerz has never heard David Beckham use the word ‘inglenooks’ before. Ever.
It also revealed that the Beckham family has owned properties in the south of France and Los Angeles. The family bought a 6-bed property in the French village of Bargemon – dubbed ‘Beckingham Palace-sur-Mer’ for £1.5million in 2003.
The couple allegedly spent nearly £5million on renovations on the home, but hardly ever visited.
They recently put the property on the market for £2million – raising the extremely painful prospect of losing £4.5million on the development.
The family had more luck across the pond.
In 2007 they purchased a 13,000 sq feet, 9-bedroom Italianate villa in Los Angeles for £14.2 million, opting for close personal friend Kelly Hoppen to style the interiors. The property was put up for sale late last year for a cool £24 million, which would provide a £9.3million gross profit.
Closer to home, the Beckham’s own a beautiful 8-bedroom townhouse in Holland Park with an estimated valuation of £25million.
At 9,000 sqr feet, David had the luxury of installing his own ‘snug’ which includes a pool table and gym. Bizarrely, Victoria chose to have four separate nail bars installed into the house as part of the redevelopment.
