Tender To Be Invited To Build Bridges and Six-Lane Roads For Yangon New City Project

Tender invitation will be called to build two bridges and two six-lane roads, said U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region.

U Phyo Min Thein made the announcement during the 16th regular meeting of Vice President U Myint Swe with Myanmar entrepreneurs last Monday at the office of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).

One bridge to Aye village and six-lane road to Kawhmu, Konchangone road will be built for the Yangon New City Project.

Moreover, one bridge which crosses Pan Hlaing River and six-lane road from this bridge to Seikkyikhanaung will be implemented.

The qualified company which will be able to build in accordance with the qualities set by the government will be selected for tender, U Phyo Min Thein said.

The bridges and roads projects are necessary for the new city projects. Therefore, more foreign investors will be invited for development projects, according to the Yangon Investment Committee.

The bridges and roads projects will be implemented by the tender system not by state budget, according to the Chief Minister.

At present, the government has not accepted the proposed companies for the project. Moreover, the Yangon Investment Forum will be held on May 9.
