Actor Jim Carrey has found a buyer for his Los Angeles mansion after knocking almost $10 million off the original asking price. The 10,954-square-foot home in Brentwood went into contract this week.
It was most recently asking $19.75 million, down from $28.9 million when the property was first listed in early 2023.
Carrey purchased the five-bedroom home in 1994, the same year he starred in three Hollywood hits, “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “Dumb and Dumber” and “The Mask.”
It’s located on a 2-acre property and includes a guest house, an Art Deco-style theater, a round sunroom surrounded by French doors, and a treetop yoga and meditation platform.
Built in 1951, the interior of the ranch-style home includes vaulted ceilings, six fireplaces, brick walls and polished hardwood floors.
In the rear of the home, an imperial brick staircase from a spacious patio leads to a pool area with its own waterfall.
Pathways lead to various gardens and wooded areas, and another staircase leads to a tennis court, according to the listing with Janelle Friedman and Graham J. Larson of Sotheby’s International Realty.
The home was on the market for more than a year before being removed in August when it was asking $21.5 million, then relisted in September for $19.75 million.
