The new interior decoration, reportedly adopted by around 30 cells, is part of a project called 'Cool Down Pink'.

A police spokesman in the town said: "It really seems to work. They quieten down and go to sleep much more quickly in a pink room."
A Texas prison in 2006 where prisoners were dressed in pink jumpsuits intended to stop inmates from returning to jail.
Despite its apparent popularity amongst prison officials a Swiss prison reform campaigner, Peter Zimmerman, said: "Many inmates are not happy with this treatment. They say it is humiliating to be confined to a room painted like a little girl's bedroom."
