A MILLIONAIRE has traded her life of luxury by selling her business and massive mansion to live the van life.

The 36-year-old entrepreneur from Florida has shared that she feels like ditching the lavish life and trading her eight-story mansion for a van was the "best decision" she's ever made.

Caitlin Pyle told Daily Mail that she's now "leading the life she always wanted."

The woman actually used to brag about the grand eight-story home complete with 18 rooms she once owned before deciding to give it all up to become a digital nomad and live on $30 a day.

Though she suffered a 'breakdown from stress, Pyle is happier than ever after getting a divorce in 2019, selling her proofreading company for $4 million and adopting a minimal lifestyle.

She gave up her luxurious and costly living situation to travel the world in her Mercedes Sprinter van. Her vehicle has a full kitchen and solar panels.

By the time she was 31, she made $4 million a year but ultimately sold her company for $4 million after a divorce from her husband of eight years was finalized in 2019.

The van lifer also had to dip into her 'nest egg' to pay off her bills, with $180,000 in mansion maintenance fees as she was the sole owner of the property.

She said this all left her feeling depressed and burnt out - she soon suffered a mental breakdown.

"Looking after the house became a full-time job," she explained.

"You'd need someone to tend to the lawn, but the guy would cancel last minute, or your mailbox would pile up and you couldn't bring yourself to sort it," she said.

"I was scrambling to pay my bills, and had my nest egg as a last resort. I had a total breakdown. Now, I had too much freedom and the emotional intensity hadn't gone away."

After a diagnosis of chronic stress and burnout from her doctor, Pyle decided to spend four years in recovery,"I'd been watching a lot of van transformation videos and I decided, maybe I could live and travel in one for a while."

That led to her purchasing a Mercedes Sprinter for $88,000.

Pyle then spent $120,000 on renovations for the van, including a custom-built kitchen that boasts a large fridge, a juicer and a blender.

It took her four months to get her dream van ready.

She started renting out her mansion for $25,000 a month and focused on her new life on the road once her van was complete.

Pyle has been on the move for six months so far and has no plans to go home any time soon.
