Tamwe township covers an area of 44.1 km and  comprises 20 wards.It's bordered with Yankin Township in the north, Thingangyun Township and Mingalartaungnyunt Township in the east, Bahan Township in the west, and Mingala Taungnyunt township in the south. The township has 30 primary schools, four middle schools and six high schools.Although the township had broad plots of land area before, flats,detached  houses  and condos become populous at present.Before the fly over bridges were built,there was heavy traffic jam in Tamwe Circle.Famous Kyauk Myaune ward which has  many restaurants, is located in the township.As the real estate market,there are different sales and rents  for different place.In Myittar Nyunt ward,price for rent is between the range of 1.5 lakh to 5lakh.There is high in price for rent in Kyaukmyaung ward.Although Tamwe has heavy traffic congestion,it's one of the populous townships in Yangon.
