First comes love, then comes marriage — and in between comes getting rid of your bachelor pad!
Alex Rodriguez, who announced his engagement to Jennifer Lopez last weekend, has just lowered the price of his Los Angeles bachelor pad by $1.25 million, Variety reports. The roughly 3,700-square-foot crib overlooking the Sunset Strip now asks $5.25 million; it hit the market in late 2018 for $6.5 million. Rodriguez snapped it up for $4.8 million in 2014 from actress Meryl Streep.
It’s not clear where the couple will ultimately settle. Rodriguez and Lopez listed their 4,003-square-foot condo at 432 Park Ave. in Midtown Manhattan for $17.5 million in January, not even a year after they bought it for $15.31 million in 2018. Variety notes the couple recently purchased actor Jeremy Piven’s beachfront home in Malibu, Calif., for $6.6 million.
Wherever they decide to nest, we hope there will be enough room for Lopez’s massive 16-carat diamond engagement ring, which is worth $1.8 million.
In the Hollywood Hills, meanwhile, Rodriguez’s home is a home run. The open-plan spread features floor-to-ceiling windows, clean wood and concrete touches, and an eat-in kitchen with wine storage. The home’s bones include four bedrooms, four bathrooms and double-height ceilings.
Glass sliders lead outside, where the new owner will get a terrace and a zero-edge pool.
