Right next door to Will and Kate!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 21-room love nest is finally ready for their move-in. And the best part? They'll be right next door to our other favorite royal couple, Kate Middleton and Prince William.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's apartment at Kensington Palace recently underwent a year-long, £1.4 million renovation (which comes out to about $1.83 million), and according to the Daily Mail, it's officially complete as of this week.
There has been scaffolding around Apartment 1 since November 2017, while repairs were being made on the roof and the windows.
The massive apartment is directly next door to Will and Kate's, and according to the Daily Mail, the couples will be able to hop back and forth between their flats by way of an adjoining door.
Until now, Meghan and Harry have been living together in Nottingham Cottage, which was previously known to be Prince Harry's "bachelor pad."
Meghan moved in shortly after their proposal (which actually took place in the cottage, over a roast chicken dinner), and reportedly put her own touches on their shared home by adding some candles and cashmere throws, the Daily Mail reports.
Until now, it has been just the two of them hanging out in the cottage, but they will likely receive a full staff of their own upon moving into Kensington Palace.
The apartment previously belonged to the Queen’s cousin Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who offered Harry the apartment a few years ago when his three children were grown up and ready to move out. Harry was reportedly "thrilled" at the offer, and he and Meghan are said to have been heavily involved in the space's makeover.
Will and Kate aren't the only royal neighbors Meghan and Harry will be joining in Kensington Palace.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank (whose own royal wedding is coming up on October 12) also live on the grounds of Kensington Palace in the Ivy Cottage, and there are 15 members of the royal family who live in the palace itself. Talk about a full house!
