Perhaps they found the in-house juice bar superfluous? Maybe the stone mandala on the roof top terrace kicked up their vertigo? Was the sapphire-blue outdoor tub simply an unnecessary design flamboyance too far?
Could be they decided they didn’t really need the vast basement level entertaining and leisure complex, with its professional bar (and its imagery of a nude woman folded into and abstract shape), bunker-like movie theater, and full spa suite replete with white crystal quartz massage room, dry sauna and steam room. Or perhaps they found 7,700 square feet was too much space for a globe-trotting young couple just in their early and mid twenties? Or wasn’t it big enough?
Whatever the case, fashion model Brooklyn Beckham — his folks are, of course, retired soccer legend David Beckham and Spice Girl turned high fashion designer Victoria Beckham, and Nicola Peltz, platinum-spooned actress daughter of New York-based billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz, have flipped a striking Beverly Hills contemporary on the market at one dollar under $11 million just eight short months after they scooped it up at a cost of $10.5 million. When all is said and done, even at a full price sale, the slight price increase will likely not cover their carrying costs and real estate fees.
Listings held by Carl Gambino of Compass go on to boast that walls of glass facilitate a “seamless indoor/outdoor flow,” and throughout are accents of stone and wood that add organic moments to otherwise spare, boxy spaces.
It’ll be interesting to see where Peltz and Beckham wind up, as their next choice of a home may help to answer some of the above questions about their almost immediate change of mind about this house. Stay tuned.
